Be. Here. Now:
Life brings forth many celebrations in life. Anywhere from graduations to barbeques, birthday parties, weddings and everything in between. As we embark on this journey we call life, we will be called to do many things. Some will challenge us, some will change us. One important thing we must learn to do it to live in the moment.
The most valuable gift we have on this earth is time. The most valuable time, is the present. There is nothing that can be done about the past or the decisions that have been made. We can only learn from the past and be willing to make an effort to move forward and create a better life for ourselves than the one we once lived in the past. Future tripping is something that I do to this day, however, I have learned that it doesn’t help me either. It robs me of the present and steals the joy of each day that we have now.
I recently watched a sermon, that talked about the importance of looking forward, not far. This hits home to me during this season of my life, and is something my mind can wrap my brain around to understand. He went on to talk about how it is important to have goals, events, and things that we look forward to in life, but even if those things seem further out, we still have the opportunity to enjoy the space between where we are and where we want to be.
How will you be here now, to do the next best thing to get you to where you want to be?
